(Why else would I be reading about easements at half ten on a Sunday night?)

With regard to my recent contribution to Charon's Caption Contest, I consulted with Accidental Law Student as to whether it would be inappropriate, tasteless and unladylike and we agreed that it probably would. But naughty-schoolgirl temptation was too much: you may have noticed Josephine's propensity for the sublimely ridiculous and we all know how gossip spreads :)Josephine Bloggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15837302409700687876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2774533728584382512.post-23278818331290706912007-06-03T20:53:00.000+01:002007-06-03T20:53:00.000+01:00Oh come now, Land Law isn't so bad. I teach it every single year...

Any Josephine, I couldn't help noticing that you have taken inspiration from my entry in last month's caption competition over on Charon's blog. If the revision police have put you lot on probation, they've detained me indefinately without charge - of course, I can revise/study ANY time I like, and will be released on a memoranda of understanding that I will not in any way and in any form be subject to the intellectual pursuit of land law - or indeed ANY kind of property law come to that. My lawyers are arguing my case before the Court of Appeal even as I write this!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2774533728584382512.post-29235952632476903572007-06-02T19:28:00.000+01:002007-06-02T19:28:00.000+01:00Oh dear - I fear that I too would be put on probab...Oh dear - I fear that I too would be put on probabtion, if not 'sent down' without trial - perhaps that would be sufficient excuse for me to evade assessments altogether?! It's an unfortunate subject on account of not being blessed with the hilarity afforded to tort or criminal case law. Much, I suppose, as I find it difficult to get excited by the contents of a will or a contract regarding ships and charters and whatnot.

That said, I can see the historical and intellectual attraction of both land law and equity, and it's a pity that those things are lost to the time-pressure of a GDL.

L2B - perhaps I should send the Revision Police around once they've finished up here? They've put me on probation :)Josephine Bloggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15837302409700687876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2774533728584382512.post-72132974976951978982007-06-01T23:51:00.000+01:002007-06-01T23:51:00.000+01:00I have just been informed by email that The Land R...I have just been informed by email that The Land Registry has moved to Cymraeg.... probably a good thing.

Fortunately, since I assume there are more houses in England than in Cymraeg, the Land Registry has provided a version for English property buyers.

I rather like the idea, however, of people sitting around at dinner parties talking about house prices in Welsh... although I have a view that the Welsh have better things to talk about.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2774533728584382512.post-80739572048540783452007-06-01T23:32:00.000+01:002007-06-01T23:32:00.000+01:00Lad lawyers... I suspect... wish they had been architects.. only a theory.

Curiously, I don't see many Lad Lawyers in bars... (Not even at The Gaucho Grill opposite the hallowed ground of the land Registry in Chancery Lane) possibly because they may have signed a covenant, or would spend their time looking at rights to light...or fret about an easement... or even adverse possession of a table by a regular.... they may, even, possibly, even, worry about co-ownership or if there was a licence in force...

Thankfully... they are not intersted in coats... so I'll get mine now

Have a good weekend

as always.... we guarantee title to land....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2774533728584382512.post-50461003410692786272007-05-31T19:03:00.000+01:002007-05-31T19:03:00.000+01:00Having considered the evidence I have concluded th...Having considered the evidence I have concluded that this malaise is actually an aversion to revision after all, not exposure to fumes caused by lack of attractive gas mask. JB should be prescribed an anti-blogging treatment to see her through until the end of exams. If successful, perhaps JB could send some along to L2B too!The Vinthusiasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01488872445422157092noreply@blogger.com
